My mom and dad have been married for 40 YEARS!!!! Its kind of weird to me because I don't feel like they are old enough to be celebrating their 40th Anniversary!

I love getting to know them as adults and not just "mom and dad". :) I love seeing how much they love and care for us. I love looking back and seeing how they took care of us and each other. I love seeing their love. No matter where life took them, their love for each other and the Lord never changed. They may laugh at that...because I actually know that life, circumstances, trials, joys, spiritual growth change you....but what I admire is that they grew together. Their love grew stronger. I love that they were a team. I love that my dad put her first. I love that my mom respected him. I love that they portrayed the godly marriage that we needed as we grew up. I love hearing stories about them before my brothers and me were a part of the family. I'm sure there were hard times (and I'm thankful they let us be kids and not worry about the adult issues), but they pressed on and carried each other....which carried the family. They made a strong name for our family!
I praise the Lord for bringing my parents together! I am so very thankful and blessed that they sought the Lord and followed Him daily. I'm thankful they were a team! I'm thankful that they put each other before my brothers and me. I'm thankful that they showed me what to look for in a marriage. The greatest thing they could do for me was to love the Lord and to love each other.

Thank you for living out the roles that God placed in marriage. Thank you for showing your love to me by loving the Lord and for loving each other.
Love you both! Happy 40th Anniversary!

I love, love, love that picture of them from your wedding! It's so amazing to think of all they have experience together the last 40 years! I can't wait to be married that long! How crazy to think about that!
isn't it amazing?! my parents will celebrate their 40th next january, and i really cannot wrap my mind around it. it has major implications on the ages of my siblings, but i'm soooo thankful for the legacy of a lasting marriage!!!!
love you, friend. have a great weekend.
p.s. i don't think i ever told you that you did a great job with the photos. when did you get your camera? i'm trying to build myself up to pursue photography... like as a side gig. ;-)
Well, I am so sorry I havent cked in on your blog in awhile!
What a sweet tribute you made to Dad and I! I appreciate how the Lord has allowed you to see us. We are so not perfect , but what I am most thankful for is that the Lord has been our glue, our constant and without Him maybe we wouldnt have weathered the challenges that pale with all the blessings of these 40yrs! One heads up I will offer to you and your sweet friends is that they pass in a hurry!! Enjoy and nurture your marriage in the Lord , in family and in friends. Continue to pull away just the two of you for regrouping, renewing personal strength and watering your relationship in each stage of your marriage. You tend to think you are "ok" and time doesnt allow you to do that, but protect that.........it is a necessity!
You know what happens to your plants when you dont water them?!! lol! You dont like plants I know, but you do like Kenny....keep him watered!
Much love and pray you have many years of sharing with the man of your dreams who is the man of reality now. And...hopefully we get to share many of those with you. Not sure we can make your first 40! That would put me at about 102! Sometimes I dont like adding!
Love you and thanks so much!
