Birthday Celebration

Happy Birthday to my most favorite person! God gave us both a present this year because we were snowed-in for Ken's birthday....actually my office closed for 3 days! We were able to spend some nice quality time together.

We started the day with some YUMMY Monkey Bread! I made it last year for New Years, but I don't think Ken remembered it....at least not like he did this year. I made it Christmas morning and he LOVED it!!!!! He's asked for about 3 times since then. So, I made it for his birthday. He also got his 4th "Happy Birthday Week" card. I've written a card everyday with a little treat (salted peanuts, Reece's minis, trail mix, York peppermint patty, dark chocolate bar) this week. He also got a REAL card from me and one from the kids (Lexis, Ruger and Flip) too. For dinner, I made "Filet au Poivre" (picture taken from Pioneer Woman website). It was FABULOUS!!!!!! We had it with steamed asparagus and baked potatoes. For dessert...we had his FAVORITE: Ice Cream. I bought all the toppings for sundaes, but Ken is good with just ice cream. I can't say that this year's birthday was better than last. Last year, we were in OKC b/c he had to get his knee examined. Then he had to have lunch with all girls (Michelle, Finley and me). Thankfully, he got a wonderful dinner from our friend Lacie!!!!!

This year....we had the wonderful homemade dinner again....but he had to go to court for a case he was working on with his previous job. He was NOT excited....but he looked SUPER cute in his suit! And, my gift isn't as good this year as it was last year:This year, we are taking a trip. Its not scheduled yet, but its something we both want to do. We are hoping this will happen the first or second weekend in March.

All in all, it really was a good day! He was able to have some yummy food and visit with some friends he hadn't seen in a while and lunch with one of his good guy friends. Tomorrow, we are going out with some couple friends for dinner!

I'm so thankful to be in his life! I love getting to celebrate his life today! He's my best friend and I'm so blessed that God chose me to share everyday with him. Love you baby! Happy Birthday!
