What We've Been Up To

Snow. I feel like it has been the theme for February 2011, for most of Oklahoma. The first week of the month, I was off work for three days. The second week, I was off for one day. All for snow. In most cities, school was closed for a full TWO WEEKS! That is craziness! Most of the school districts have added anywhere from 18 minutes to 40 minutes to each day just so they don't run too many days into the summer. Its beautiful, but Oklahoma doesn't function well with it.We were finally able to get out of the house! And, we went out to celebrate Ken's birthday with friends at Louie's.We had a great time! I'm thankful we were able to get out b/c the weekend was about to include days of sickness, coughs, and fever. :(The next few days, I was completely laid out on the couch with some virus. I'm not sure it was the flu b/c the fever only lasted 24 hours and there were multiple viruses floating around at the time. However, I could barely move for those 24 hours and I missed out on a Super Bowl party and getting to know some new friends. And, as soon as I was over it....Ken got it.

Oh, yeah...and more snow.Which meant more "comfort food". The first snow, I made chili and Monkey Bread. This time, we feasted on homemade chicken and dumplings. YUM! :)We also enjoyed some beautiful sunsets over the perfect blanket of snow.God answered a beautiful prayer...well a few of them. Little Jude waited until all the snow was gone....meaning, I was able to be there for his sweet birth! God was so good in His perfect timing to allow Jude to be born when I could get there. God also answered our prayers that Michelle would make it to her due date (well, she was 3 days early) so that Jude's lungs would be fully developed. Amen!!! And, that sweet boy is just perfect! Can't wait to see him again! I just love this family and so blessed to be a part of their big day.Beautiful Spring weather finally made its way to Oklahoma! I was so excited about it that I took an afternoon off work to enjoy it. I had lunch with a friend. Did a little shopping. Walked the lake. Read outside with the kids. :) We all enjoyed the sun so very much! This month has been full of wonderful blessings! I can't wait to see God's blessings as they come through out 2011.

Little Jude totally waited for his Aunt Beth to be there and I'm so thankful that he did! He misses you! And am so grateful for all the wonderful pictures you took so that we have them to remember such a special day in our lives!!
I also told Jude that some special men in his life were born in February-- Uncle Kenny, Uncle West, and Grandpa Bill! What a perfect month for him to be born!
