30 Days of Thankfulness 2012

Four years ago, I started a tradition of blogging everyday about something I am thankful for (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011). This year, I've been thinking about if there was something "new" I could do with this. I thought about blogging only about things I'm thankful for my husband for, but I know that I couldn't get through 30 days and not share other areas in my life that I am thankful for. So, I've decided that this year, I'm going to blog three areas that I'm thankful for: my husband, my family and my friends.

November 1, 2012

My husband - I'm thankful for his love for me. We've been going through Song of Solomon with our small group and its been such a blessing. Every week it seems we all go around the room and share something about our spouse. I love getting to hear out loud what he loves about me. I've learned that this is so good for marriages. To say out loud what attracts you to each other, what you love about the other person, gifts that you appreciate, etc. I'm thankful that he is comfortable sharing with others what he loves about me as his wife.

My family - I'm thankful for the sacrifices my parents make to serve the people they love. Recently, my grandmother had a stroke and I've been able to watch my parents take care of her. I'm so thankful that they give of themselves to her. I know its hard and days are stressful, but its been such a blessing to see God use them.

My friends - I am so thankful for our small group. We meet every Thursday night and it is constantly a blessing. We have a group of couples that are in the same life-stage as us (late-20's-30's, less than 5 years married, no kids) and we get to encourage each other and learn together. We've really enjoyed the Song of Solomon study too. I'm so thankful for the relationships God has brought into our lives and the new friendships we have.
