30DT-Day 12

November 12, 2012 -

my husband - Today, I am thankful that my husband likes to have alone time so I can get away with friends and not feel guilty about it. Not only did I take off work early so I could have lunch with a friend and a hair appt and then head to an evening yoga class, but once I got home I left 30 minutes later to have coffee with a friend. I'm thankful that we both need our time and we are willing to let the other have it.

my family - I'm so thankful that my sister-in-law, Aimee, is serving in Thailand. She is on staff with a church and there is a group of them in Thailand right now serving the people there and teaching them about Jesus. I'm so thankful that she is obedient to where God is calling her. I'm thankful that she is teaching her family that we can make sacrifices in our life to help and serve others. I know they all miss each other so much, but God will definitely be blessing that obedience. She is not only serving people in another country, she is an example to her kids and everyone who knows her that we can all serve! I also just have to say that I am super thankful for my brother, Jeff, that he was obedient in letting her go too. There are many husbands who would have said "no" b/c they don't want to take care of their kids (Jeff and Aimee have 4) by themselves and I'm so thankful that he is serving his family in this capacity. Yet another example to their kids of how to serve others!

my friends - I love doing the 30DT because it never fails that God shows me what He's given me. Today, I was blessed to spend time with so many of my friends. I had lunch with Toni who is so incredible! She started as a mentor to me in college and has turned into a friend. I love her so much! Then I was able to see Richa, my hair stylist. I love my days that I get to go see her and have my hair fixed, plus she has been a friend/hair stylist for YEARS! I think at least 10 years...at least! She is such a blessing to me! Then I went to my hot yoga class. Not only did I get to see Mary, but also Steph and Crystal. I know we don't do much talking during the class, but its so encouraging to have your friends sweating right along with you. :) And then, to top off the night. I am so thankful that I was able to have coffee with Tashia. She and I try to plan something ALL. THE. TIME! Its comical, really. This time it happened and it was a huge blessing! Its awesome to see God moving and working in her life and I left encouraged on in my walk as well. She is so special to me and we have seen each other through so much! I'm so thankful that God brought her into my life and that He has allowed us to remain close even though life has given us some "breaks" in being able to see each other.
