2009 Blog Recap

To recap this last year, I joined a little blogging carnival over at Musings of a Housewife!!! I list the first line of the first post of each month! Here we go:

January
Welcome to 2009!!!!
Happy New Year to everyone...and will blog more later!

February
Its February 2009! Only 11 months to go until 2010. :) My resolutions for '09 were to be healthy in all areas.
Wow! Already counting down??? But this post does show what my resolutions were for last year. This is the first year that I feel like I haven't lived up to my resolutions. I wanted to be healthier in every area of my life. I did really well for the first few months on my workouts and learned that I was a boredom eater. I also have maintained my weight for over a year and a half without being ON weight watchers. I still use what I learned from WW and would recommend it to anyone!!! I just wanted to not count points for the rest of my life. However, I am not healthy in the way I would like to be. I really have been struggling lately with my workouts and due to the holidays just eating non-stop. I also wanted to be healthy in my spiritual life. While I have kept up with my quiet time on my work mornings, I don't feel like I have grown as much spiritually in '09 as I have in the past. I have really struggled with boredom. My other resolution was to love my family. I don't know how to measure that, but I do feel like I've learned more about my family (individually) this year than any other year. I've paid attention to their character and who they truly are! I don't know what my resolutions will be for 2010, but they might resemble last years.

March
March Madness is HERE!!! This is one of my favorite months of the year!!!! It might be my favorite "holiday" next to Christmas! :)
I DO love MARCH MADNESS!!!!! I hope that OSU does really well in Big 12 play that we can go to NCAA! Plus just giving a little update on what was happening that month!

April
Well, its Friday! YAY! I am so thankful for weekends.
Oh, how I do love weekends!!! The funny thing about this post is that its really short and I blogged a lot more interesting things in April than this!!! Especially since we got ENGAGED in April!!!!

May
Well, its May! I love May because it reminds me that summer is around the corner.
Updating on my grandmother's health and our wedding. I'm learning that a lot of my first posts of the months are just overviews of whats going on....not very interesting!!!

June
Well, I never blogged about Ken and I's trip to Texas.
Pictures of our trip to Texas, baby showers, Ruger's birthday, out and about with Ken, Finley, and wedding presents!!! :)

July
And, here are the last of the engagement pictures!
Posting of our engagment pictures.

August
I have really taken a break from blogging this summer. At first it wasn't intentional, but as the summer went along, I just realized that blogging wasn't a priority. Balancing work, wedding planning (in a different city than the event), spending time with Ken, spending time with friends and family, living in two places, trying to sell my house, trips, and just all things life have taken my time away from my blog.
I think the post title gives more information ;) "36 Days And Counting" YAY!!!! Updates on wedding stuff and anything else in life!

September
September 1st is one of my favorite days...Because today is the very special day that God gave this world Michelle.
Michelle's birthday!!!!

October
Well, its official!!!! I'M MARRIED!!!!! :)
WE'RE MARRIED!!!!!

November
Last year, I started a "tradition" of blogging 30 Days of Thankfulness. It was really neat to see what little things I saw in each day that I was thankful for.
This is something that I am hoping to continue every year. This is my 2nd annual "30 Days of Thankfulness". Everyday I post something that I am thankful for during the month of November.

December
Today is December 1st! I am excited to be caught up to some degree on blogging. I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas and everything that goes with it!
This is just a fun picture of Finley! She finally can wear pig-tails....or "shrek"-tails!!!! ;)

This carnival definitely helped me realize that I need more "meat" in my posting!!! And to start each post with some kind of "attention-grabber"!!!!

Because I take pictures like crazy, I wanted to do a Year-In-Review with pictures!!! I have posted a picture for each month that defines the month (not wedding planning related)...or just my favorite of the events of that month! I think the pictures will give a better idea of the year in review.

January - Entering a new year with my future husband! We had so much fun in the big ice/snow storm!!!
February - Michelle is probably going to hate me for posting this picture, but I think of two things when I think of last February: Valentines Day and the women's retreat Michelle and I went to. Valentine's Day was memorable b/c I made Ken dinner (Cream Cajun Chicken Pasta and my first ever cheesecake!), but I don't have any pictures. But, the next thing I remember was the women's retreat/conference. It wasn't really a retreat b/c we didn't "travel"...well I guess I did...but I just enjoyed a weekend with my best friend. The retreat wasn't spectacular, but memorable with our friendship.
March - Our trip to Texas so my grandmother could meet Ken. We weren't engaged yet, but I knew she was sick and I wanted her, with all my heart, to meet the man I was going to marry!!! April - We got ENGAGED!!! I know I said the pictures weren't going to be about the wedding or planning, but this will be the only one. :) It really was the best moment in April!
May - My baby's new toy!!! It was a really exciting purchase and we used it alot!!!!
June - 3rd Annual Girls' Trip - Dallas, TX
July - VEGAS!!!!!!
August - My first trip to Minnesota and Wisconsin!!!!September - Cowboy Football!!!
October - Finley's First Birthday!!! (I know we got married in October and of course that trumps EVERYTHING, but the wedding has its own "life" outside of everything else).
November - The BUCK!!! This was our first Thanksgiving together, but nothing could be better than my husband getting his first buck of the season! And I am so thankful that my nephew, Spencer got be here too!!December - It was really hard to pick a picture for December. Between picking out our first Christmas tree, our house decorated, presents, being with family, pictures from my mom and dad's house, our white Christmas, our fancy dinner on Christmas night, and meeting part of my new family...it was HARD to pick just one thing. I realized it all came back to one thing...Our First Christmas!!!!
