There's a writing challenge taking place among some bloggers: To write every day in October about something you are passionate about. I've decided to join this challenge. The past few years I feel like I haven't challenged myself to really blog intentionally. I'm not saying this challenge will change my blog, but I do want to take it b/c I like to write and it will push me to think outside the box.
What am I passionate about? This was the question I asked myself. I'm definitely passionate about my husband. I am also passionate about photography, cooking, healthy living (from what you eat to what you put on your skin), TV (sad, but true), politics, theology, decorating, and party-planning. While I could write everyday about any of the things I listed, I'm choosing something that embodies all of them. Relationships. Its definitely something I'm passionate about! I long to strenthen the relationships I have and I am always looking to start new ones. But, there are also times in life that relationships require boundaries. Those are hard for a girl who is typically "all or nothing".
What I love about relationships is they are life. Its truly all we have. They can bring us joy, life, fun, and companionship...but can also bring pain, sadness, frustration, and loneliness. What I love about them is they grow us into who we are. They shape our life! They impact us in some way!!! I also love that everything I listed above involves relationships: my husband, taking pictures to "freeze" memories, joining friends and families around the table with good food and fellowship, loving yourself enough to take care of your body, gathering around the TV to laugh or cry, beliefs that bring people together, getting into the spirit of the seasons we all love, or bringing people together to celebrate!!!
I take this journey not really knowing how it will look when we reach the end of the month. I'm excited where God will take me in this.
