A New Beginning

As I begin day two of this 31 day project, I sit here with my coffee and think about what aspect I want to start with. I have all these ideas running through my mind, but the one that is heavy today is that we are going to a new church this morning.

We left our church a little over a month ago because there were things going with the leaders that we didn't agree with. While the teaching was really great, it was hard to sit under the authority of leaders when you knew what was going on Monday-Saturday.

This happens. I'm sure all of you have your own rendition of the same issue. However, it hurts. Its a breaking of a relationship and the loss of a place you called "home". Its leaving friends that you have loved for a long time and a place you have served the Lord to find something different.

I know that some will think that we are ridiculous because the teaching is so amazing. How could be possibly find something better? Well, its not about finding better. Every church is flawed. Its about finding something better for US. Its about finding a place where we see the Lord being served and glorified. It about finding honesty and character. Its about growing spiritually and being challenged in our walk with the our Savior!

That's where we are today. I'm really excited to be going somewhere new. A fresh start. New place, new people, new music, new perspective (not new theology). But, it is starting over. A new relationship is beginning. One that has to be cultivated and nurtured. A new place to call "home."
